A guide to buying a zippo lighter at tobacco palace Lancaster.

What is a zippo lighter?

A zippo is a classic lighter that was created in 1933 by George G. Blaisdell in Bradford Pennsylvania. The very first one produced is still on display today in the zippo museum. It was sold for a $1.95 and came with the world famous unconditional warranty stating, “it works or we fix it free.” It was revolutionary because, it was the first efficient pocket lighter to be produced that wasn’t awkward or cumbersome, and would change the way lighters were used for ever. It was a reconstruct of an Austrian lighter with the chimney design to keep it from blowing out in the wind, and would later become patented and the staple of all zippo designs.
